Sedation Dentistry
For
many people a visit to the dentist can mean an experience that presents
extreme patient anxiety. Dr. Barry has treated numerous individuals with
varying degrees of patient anxiety and can help determine the proper course
of sedation necessary to insure a comfortable experience.
Today’s hectic life pace also prompts people to delay fixing chipped teeth, repair crowns, bridgework or gum procedures. Sedation dentistry allows the dentist and his team to consolidate more work within a single visit, as the patient is in a relaxed state, saving time and minimizing concern.
Dr. Barry is a State Licensed Sedation Dentist. Also, he is Board Certificated by the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology in Conscious Sedation. He is Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certified.
Patients can choose from a variety of sedation options, ranging from inhalation sedation (nitrous oxide), oral sedation (medications), combination sedation (oral medication and inhalation) and full intravenous applications (where the patient sleeps through the entire appointment).
To find out which sedation option is right for you; please contact Dr. Barry for a no-obligation consultation and rate quote at 847-824-3536.

Cosmetic Dentistry
It has been said you only get one chance to make a first impression. An appealing smile can make all the difference in your social and professional lives.
Using the latest in dental technology cosmetic dentistry is now an efficient and discomfort-free way to enhance your appearance in a short period of time.
The Barry Dental Team specializes in the finest quality porcelain restorations, veneers, teeth whitening, bonding and other state-of-the-art treatments. Expert technicians can make appliances for whitening procedures in the on-site lab, reducing your waiting time.
Tooth Whitening
There is a dramatic difference between over the counter, store-bought whitening systems and professional treatments. With in-office whitening you receive a Power Whitening with the "Zoom" light. An experienced dental hygienist will then take impressions and make a custom fit tray.
Initial treatment and a special light are applied in the office. Patients are then provided with an at-home kit, whitening solution and detailed instruction on how/when to self-administer treatments. Professionally whitened teeth stay bright for an extended period of time. With periodic home touch-up treatments your bright smile will last and last.
General Dentistry
Solid dental health results from a routine program of at-home dental hygiene and regular dental check-ups. For your overall health and enhanced life quality, patients are offered:
- General Care
X-rays, cleanings, scaling, composite fillings and sealants. - Implant Treatment
Removable and fixed bridgework, artificial teeth replacements. - Denture and Partial Prosthodontics
- Root Canal Treatment
- Extractions
- Periodontal Care
Surgical and non-surgical treatment of gum disease. - Intra-Oral Imagery
Scanning and imagery equipment to pinpoint cracked teeth, defective fillings and crowns or gum disease.
Veneers and Crowns
Many of us have healthy teeth and gums but are dissatisfied with the appearance of our smile.
Dr. Barry can recommend veneers to cover teeth that are chipped, worn down or slightly crooked.
Veneering is accomplished by affixing thin, custom-made porcelain shells inlayed into existing teeth, in a simple, comfortable procedure. Typically veneering requires only two appointments.
Simply make an appointment and Dr. Barry will advise you on an appropriate course of action for your situation.
In most cases, crowns are required to support a tooth when a large filling simply does not leave enough natural tooth to prevent fracturing.
Other situations such as restoration of damaged or badly shaped/discolored teeth and covering a dental implant are best suited by crowning.
The doctor will provide consultation on what the best materials are for your situation.
